BUILDING COLLECTIONS
ART ADVISORY & PRIVATE SALES -
Building collections with cultural significance and long-term value.
We work with private collectors, family offices and organisations to build, develop and refine significant art collections, providing highly personalised art advisory across acquisitions, sales and collection strategy.
Our art advisory experience spans contemporary art, modern and post-war art, as well as significant Old Master transactions. We advise on collection strategy, source works privately and through galleries and auctions, and negotiate acquisitions and sales on behalf of clients.
Our approach is informed by curatorial judgement and Simon Oldfield’s legal and commercial experience, bringing together quality, context, structure and long-term value.
Our involvement can extend across the life of a collection — from commissions and new acquisitions to private sales, museum loans and gifts, collection management and longer-term legacy.
Collections we have advised on include works by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein, Josef Albers, Bridget Riley, Frank Bowling, Tracey Emin, Cindy Sherman and Rashid Johnson, alongside established and emerging contemporary artists. We also advise on and manage major private commissions, including large-scale and site-specific works by artists such as Conrad Shawcross.
We work discreetly and transparently, with clear commercial arrangements, drawing on longstanding relationships with artists, galleries, institutions and specialists internationally.
